How to play Klondike Solitaire
Klondike is the solitaire — the patience game most people simply call "Solitaire." The goal is to move all 52 cards onto the four foundations, building each suit upward from Ace to King. On the seven tableau columns, build downward in alternating colors: a red Nine goes on a black Ten, a black Queen on a red King. Any face-up run can be moved between columns as a unit, and only Kings (alone or leading a run) may be placed on empty columns.
When you run out of moves, draw from the stock in the top-left corner. Cards turn over into the waste pile — one at a time in Draw 1, three at a time in Draw 3 — and when the stock is empty, tap it again to recycle the waste and keep going. Drag cards where you want them, or simply tap a card to send it to the best available spot (foundation first). Uncovering a face-down tableau card flips it automatically.
Strategy tips
Flip face-down cards first. Every hidden card you reveal opens new options, so when two moves are available, prefer the one that uncovers a card — and dig into the tallest piles early, since they hide the most. Don't rush the foundations:a Two or Three you bank too early may be exactly the card you need to park a run on later.Empty columns are for Kings — but wait for the right King: one with a Queen of the opposite color in sight beats one that strands a column.In Draw 3, count your stock. Playing one card from the waste shifts which cards surface on the next pass, so sometimes it pays to skip a playable card to reach a better one next cycle.

Stuck? Hint (H) highlights a useful move. Undo is unlimited (U or Ctrl+Z), with redo on R. Press D or tap the stock to draw,N for a new deal, and A to auto-finish once every card is face up. Frequently asked questions
Are all Klondike Solitaire games winnable?
No. Roughly 80% of Klondike deals are theoretically winnable, but typical players win far fewer because some wins require perfect play. Draw 1 games are considerably easier to win than Draw 3. If a deal beats you, use the deal number to replay it and try a different line.
What is the difference between Draw 1 and Draw 3?
In Draw 1, one card is turned from the stock at a time and every stock card is reachable each pass — win rates around 35–45% are realistic. In Draw 3, cards turn over three at a time so only every third card is initially available, which makes planning your stock passes much more important. You can switch modes in Settings; the change applies to your next deal.
How does Klondike scoring work?
CardHearth uses standard scoring: 10 points for each card moved to a foundation, 5 points for waste-to-tableau moves and for flipping a face-down tableau card, and a 15-point penalty for moving a card off a foundation. Recycling the waste costs 100 points in Draw 1, and 20 points per pass after the third in Draw 3.
Can I play the same deal again or share it?
Yes. Every deal has a number (shown next to the timer). After a game you can replay the identical deal, and the Share button copies a challenge link — anyone who opens it gets exactly the same cards.
